A Journey of Resilience
& Determination

From working as a farm hand, labourer and plumber to serving the nation in Parliament, Vijay Sampla's life reflects struggle, self-respect and an unshakeable will to create a better society for all.

At 27, as a bereaved dalit trying to find his feet against oppressive landlords in Jalandhar's Sofi Pind, he went to Saudi Arabia to work for a plumbing company. It was there that a defining moment shaped his worldview when asked to clean human excreta, he refused, and the building owner himself donned gloves to do it. That moment, he says, taught him the difference between oppression and dignity of labour.

His political journey began when he was elected Sarpanch of Sofi village, Jalandhar District a foundation built on trust, community and unwavering service.
